Sorting is an essential skill that students need to learn in their early education years. With this set of sorting mats, students can sort 56 different sorting pieces by US dollar bill.

What is included?
  1. 6 (six) sorting mats
  2. 1 (one) reader - printable (16 page booklet)
  3. Lesson plans (how to use what's included)
  • First (read the booklet), Then (complete the sorting mat)
  • Skills Targeted by These Activities
  • Potential IEP Goals for Skill Mastery
  • Other activity ideas for this topic

Students sort onto the following mats:
  • $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100
  • 8 sorting pieces per mat

How do I use this in my classroom?

I print on white cardstock, laminate, cut out and add Velcro. During center time or during "free" time, these sorting mats are readily available for students to work on. Depending on ability level, I give the student multiple sorting mats to work on at once.Ā

You can also use the sorting mats to create a file folder activity or game.

If some edits were made to this resource it would be amazing but unfortunately, it is impossible to print at its intended size due to restrictions around printing images of money. Apparently, our printers recognize a specific set of markings on the images and will not print them. It sadly renders these mats unusable.

I love these sorting mats. I took your suggestion and scaled-down the size in order to get it to print, but I would like it even more if I was able to print it a bit bigger so that the details were clearer. It is still a great task and very affordable.

I had printer trouble when I tried to print the first time. When I tried to reprint it then the program would never finish and a use error came up. I didn't get to print a full source. Not impressed.

This is great to have on hand for individual practice when students need a task for a few minutes. I accidentally printed the 2 sided and with cardstock and laminating, it works! The realistic images are so helpful!

I would love to use this resource but it will not allow me to print it full size. I was really hoping to be able to use this with my students to help meet their IEP goals.
