Sorting is an essential skill that students need to learn in their early education years. With this set of weather sorting mats, students can sort 48 different real world objects by 3D shape.

What is included?
  1. 2 (two) sorting mats
  2. 1 (one) reader - printable (16 page booklet)
  3. Lesson plans (how to use what's included)
  • First (read the booklet), Then (complete the sorting mat)
  • Skills Targeted by These Activities
  • Potential IEP Goals for Skill Mastery
  • Other activity ideas for this topic

Students sort onto the following mats:
    • Triangular Prism
    • Spheres
    • Rectangular Prism
    • Pyramid
    • Hemisphere
    • Cylinder
    • Cube Cone

How do I use this in my classroom?

I print on white cardstock, laminate, cut out and add Velcro. During center time or during "free" time, these sorting mats are readily available for students to work on. Depending on ability level, I give the student both healthy teeth sorting mats to work on at once.

You can also use the sorting mats to create a file folder activity or game.

My students loved using this resource. The pictures can be tricky but it pushed my student's thinking and understanding. I loved being able to have another resource for my Geometry students to use despite their functioning level. Thanks!
