The Monthly Adapted Piece Book Set was a great resource.

J
Jennifer T.

These adapted books have been such a great resource for my students. The interactive pieces help keep them engaged and give them an active way to participate during reading instead of just listening. I love that the bundle includes books for every month, so I always have seasonal activities ready to use. They are especially helpful for my students who benefit from repetition, visuals, and hands-on learning.

My students have loved using his resource in the classroom for co-reading! I have used it with students with more severe disabilities in the upper grades and it has been perfect! A lot of set up, but so so worth it! :)

I really LOVE these adapted book sets. It helps my students to answer questions with visuals while I'm reading the story. I'm able to use more of my books with my non verbal students and target answering questions with these visuals. I still have to buy a few of the books, but with each book I buy; I adapt. It has really made my book collection more complete!

The ones that we have used have been great. They have helped my students understand the stories. They take a time to get ready but have been worth the time. I like how the visuals used match the stories, the questions are paced well throughout each story, and they are who, what, when, where, why, how questions.

We needed a resource to use for library with our students, and these adaptive books were a fantastic option! Not only are the books interactive and accessible, but the worksheets to go with the books are a perfect addition!

I won a grant and used it to purchase this along with the corresponding books. It was a labor of love that has served me well over the years.

I began making these a few at a time for my classroom. These are absolutely amazing to help my nonverbal students be able to fully participate during read aloud time. I encourage all teachers to purchase this and use it. I have been ordering books a little at a time as money allows and so excited to get every book purchased and finished so that my classroom library is full of adapted pieces for my students.

J
Janelle M.

My students love adapted books. It is great to help them with their comprehension skills.

T
The Very Special Educator

I really like using the adapted pieces, but there were some books with missing pieces or parts. For example, October's "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything" is missing the velcro page. In August's "You're Finally Here" there isn't a matching piece for the 1st question. Other than things like that which I tried to work around, it was helpful.

This resource brought books to life in my classroom. My students love playing with books during independent time, but always need an adult there to help facilitate reading the story. These adapted pieces allowed my students to explore the book on their own and interact with the book by matching the pieces to the pictures they saw in the story. I had some of the books that are in the different monthly bundles, but I also purchased a bunch of them after purchasing this bundle. Highly worth the money spent on both the books and the adapted pieces that were created for each book!

This saved me so much time from trying to make a similar resource myself. It helps keep my students engaged in read alouds and helped with their comprehension. I had lots of the books already, so it was beneficial to me. I wish more books could be added as well.

This is a labor intensive project but I have used most of the September books so far. These questions align with many of my students' IEP goals, and I already had many of these books! It is money well spent and a labor of love since I will be able to use this resource forever now! Thank you!
