Reading is so important and this resource helps bring this to life. I love pasting the pictures into the books and then creating a copy for the students to make their own story mat on paper. It keeps them busy while we read, many love to match the icons to the ones in the book, and it is a lot of fun. I buy a theme every month and create my books. Great resource!

I was really excited to use this resource, but then I found that my students were ripping out the adapted pieces from the books when I left them in the library and I wasn't engaging with them as much as I thought I would when I reading the books to the students. I also ended up not liking putting the pieces in the book permanently. Thank you!

My students were definitely more engaged with the story with these pieces. I actually used it for some of my older kids and they loved it. It is great to work on vocabulary. comprehension questions, and narrative retelling. We used the pictures as a frame to retell the story and it worked great.
