Are you looking for a differentiated, technology-based, easy to implement way to build fine motor skills with your students? Consider your problem solved!

What is included and why do I need this?
Leveled line tracing activities that are ready for you to download on to your iPad or tablet, or print and laminate for binder work.

Fine motor practice is essential to any student's ability to write, tie shoes, button buttons, zip up a coat or backpack... so many life tasks depend on fine motor skills. Help develop the skills with each of your students by using this differentiated set of shape-tracing activity pages.

How do I put these activities on my iPads or tablets?
The last two pages of the PDF you will download will explain how to retrieve the file from DropBox, as well as directions on how to download the files to your iPad or tablet.

What if I want to print them out and put them in a binder?
You can certainly do that too! I actually use both versions in my classroom. Simply download the file from DropBox, print, laminate, and add to a binder of any size. Use dry erase markers to practice.

Please know that you will receive one PDF file in your download that includes a link to download the file from DropBox. This is the easiest way for you to access the files on your iPad or tablet, without having to unzip a folder.

Fine Motor Skills Practice (Tracing Lines) is a helpful resource for developing foundational fine motor and pre-writing skills in a self-contained special education classroom. The tracing activities provide structured practice with pencil control, visual-motor coordination, and following lines and patterns. I especially like using these pages during 1:1 instruction, fine motor centers, morning work, or independent practice with appropriate support. The activities can be easily adapted with modeling, hand-over-hand assistance, visual prompts, and repeated practice based on individual student needs. The distance-learning format also makes it convenient to send practice activities home for continued skill development. This is a simple, practical resource for helping students build the fine motor skills needed for handwriting and greater independence.

This is great for a lot of our JK students who are having trouble holding a pencil and attempting to write their name. A variety of lines and pages for the kids to use, ensures that there is differentiation. I also use it for my own children at home to get them to practise with pencils, markers and crayons.

Using this as an after school extra practice for those kids who need to work on fine motor. After the pandemic students are so used touching screens on ipads that they are struggling with fine motor. This is great practice for that.

I bought this for my own preschool-aged child who avoides coloring, writing, and tracing. I laminated the pages and watched my son's motivation level skyrocket when I have him a wet erase marker to use. Love the simplicity and creativity of this product!
