This science and social studies adapted work binder has been an absolute lifesaver in my self-contained special education classroom! Finding grade-level content area curriculum that's truly adapted for students with significant disabilities is so challenging, and this resource delivers exactly what I needed – real science and social studies content made accessible for ALL learners.

What made this resource exceptional:

Content areas made accessible – My students with disabilities deserve to learn science and social studies just like their peers! This resource makes that possible by adapting the content in meaningful ways while maintaining the integrity of what's being taught.
Comprehensive curriculum – This isn't just a few random worksheets – it's a complete adapted curriculum covering multiple science and social studies topics. I have structured content to teach throughout the year!
Perfect for diverse learners – I've used this with students across a wide range of abilities – from those on alternate achievement standards to students working closer to grade level with modifications. The adapted format works for everyone!
Binder format keeps everything organized – Having materials in a structured binder system makes it easy to keep track of what I've taught, monitor student progress, and stay organized across multiple content areas and students.
Addresses content standards – This resource helps me teach actual science and social studies standards in an adapted way, which is critical for IEPs, report cards, and ensuring my students access the general curriculum as required.
How I used it: This adapted work binder became my primary curriculum for science and social studies instruction. I used it during content area time, incorporated pages into independent work and centers, and used them for small group instruction. Students learned about topics like weather, animals, community helpers, maps, and other essential content in formats they could access – visual supports, simplified text, hands-on activities, and adapted response formats. This made it possible to teach real content standards to students with significant disabilities and document meaningful progress on content area IEP goals.

A must-have for: Special education teachers, teachers of students with moderate to severe disabilities, anyone teaching content areas to complex learners, students on alternate achievement standards, teachers needing adapted curriculum that's actually comprehensive, and anyone who believes ALL students deserve access to science and social studies content!

I love the variety of pages. If you are familiar with laminating and velcro, it is easy to set up. Perfect to pick one or two sheets for my student to practice "work." It does not match our curriculum perfectly but still useful.

Excellent science and social studies work binder for students with special needs who can't quite always keep up with the concepts presented in the general education classroom. These lessons can help to supplement what they are learning in the classroom. Highly recommend!

Hello, I wanted to share some feedback about this resource. I purchased it hoping it would support my 3rd grade science and social studies instruction, as the title and description indicate it is appropriate up to 3rd grade. Unfortunately, after downloading it, I realized the material is far too basic for 3rd grade learners.

The worksheets are mostly single-word copy activities, and the graphics are extremely childish—more suitable for Pre-K or kindergarten. When I tried using it with my class, my students even laughed because it felt like “baby work.”

I’m disappointed because I purchased the entire bundle, and I now see that it does not meet the instructional needs of a 3rd grade classroom. Since the content does not match the level described, I kindly request a refund or store credit.
Thank you for your understanding.
